Lord, I pray that your people will pray for our new president.  I pray that we would truly believe your promises about the power of prayer to change this world.

Lord, stir the hearts of your people to pray.  May you find us obedient and believing.

In Jesus’ name…

Yes Lord. We pray that you would protect our president. Bless his family and keep them close. Bring godly people to him that they can encourage him in his relationship with you. By your Holy Spirit draw him to you and help him to see that the best thing for our nation would be for him to serve you with all his heart.

Give boldness to those who have access to him, including Rick Warren and others, to speak your words to our president.

God, please bless America. Not because we deserve it, but because of your grace.

Lord, thank you for Your Word that clearly tells us to pray for our President. You work beyond what we can see. I ask Lord that Your Spirit would be working mightily in the life of President elect Obama, shaping his thoughts, and scheduling his divine appointments with those that will turn his thoughts toward you. We do pray for protection and blessings for him and his family. May they see their time in the White House as a blessing from you. Please give him wisdom to lead this country and its people, amongst whom many belong to you. Please have mercy on us and cause a revival to You, and repentance in the hearts of the people of this land.

Please continue to bless, lead, guide, and protect President Bush and his family as he completes his service to our country. We thank you for him and his family, and the example of graciousness that they are to us.

In Jesus name we pray according to Your Word: “Therefore I exhort first of all that suppliction, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men, for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence. For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth. For there is one God and one Mediator between God and men, the Man Christ Jesus, who gave Himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time, for which I was appointed a preacher and an apostle– I am speaking the truth in Christ and not lying–a teacher of the Gentiles in faith and truth. Therefore I desire that the men pray everwhere, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and doubting.” 1 Timothy 2:1-8

Thank you Lord for Your faithfulness and the goodness that You have shown us!

  1. Lord many Christians are fearful of Obama and his policies but we know that you are in control and that you haven’t given us a spirit of fear but of power of love and of a sound mind. We pray that your purposes would be accomplished through BO and that you would be glorified. Use him to bring this country and your people closer to You…however you see fit to make that happen.

Father, I pray for our President this morning. I pray that as it sinks in that he really has won, and that now he is in this position he will be humbled and aware of his need for You. I pray that You will speak clearly to him: if he does not know You I pray that You will draw him to Yourself. If he does know You, I pray that Your Spirit will be active and working in his heart. Use the challenges of the office he will step in to to draw him closer to You.

I pray as well for our country, that we will not panic when something rattles us, but we will come before You and seek Your face. Call us to Yourself, Father.

Lord, I also pray for the unknown and known Daniels and Danielles in our nations capitol. Grant them hope and a spirit of grace and supplication. May they walk upright, be free from the seduction of gaining significance with power plays and instead look for the open doors of opportunity you provide with people.

Yes, Lord I agree with my brothers and sisters here. We lift of our new president and pray Your very best for him…may he will turn to You for wisdom, direction, might and may he glory only in You. Thank you that we know You are our Mighty,Most High, Sovereign God and we rest and trust in You.

  2. Pray for the soul and heart of our President. And all of our Leaders, and God will do the rest.
Heavenly Father, Lord and Savior, You have all power in heaven and earth and your righteousness will prevail. We do trust that you will provide for the needs of your church and for our nation. We trust that you will use your people to sow your word, and be salt and light in the world and that we will pray for the hearts and souls of our leaders. Lord we know that only by your grace can our president be saved to know you and to be given the wisdom and knowledge to submit the policies, and laws of our nation to the biblical revelation of your truth.
We know that you alone can turn His heart to Jesus and your truth.

  3. Our Father, who art in heaven
    hallowed be thy Name,
    thy kingdom come,
    thy will be done,
on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread
    And forgive us our trespasses,
    as we forgive those
    who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation,
    but deliver us from evil.
    For thine is the kingdom,
and the power, and the glory,
    for ever and ever.
    Amen.

Lord I lift up this country to you. I pray that we would once again be a nation that knows you and follows hard after you. I lift up our new president to you and ask that you would consume his every thought. That you would not allow him to do anything without first giving himself over to you. In the precious name of Jesus, Amen

O Jesus, we believe help our unbelief! You are mighty, you turn the heart of the King like water. We pray so much that you would move in Obama’s life, that he truly would come to know the love of Christ. We pray for his beautiful wife Michelle and for his daughters that you would bless them as well as they prepare for a move into the White House. We pray that you would give Obama great wisdom and courage, give him keen insight and Godly counselors. Give him your grace and truth! You Reign Lord, You Reign on High, You alone are mighty, You alone are King…. Bless this nation, turn us back to You Jesus, move mightily we pray!

  4. Father, Your word tells us that we should pray, make supplication for, and intercede for all men… and for kings and all who are in authority.

We know that the powers that exist are ordained by You. We also know that You rule, as you taught Nebuchadnezzar to understand. The hearts of kings are in your hand, Father. You turn them wherever You will.

Father, we pray that You would turn the heart of President-elect Obama in Your direction. We pray that You would steer his leadership in such a way that it would be a blessing to Your people, so that we might be turned as well… toward more dependence upon You, away from materialism and our other gods, and into a deep, abiding relationship with Jesus Christ.

Father, we pray the prayer of Habakkuk. In your wrath against our many sins, we ask that You would remember mercy.

In Abraham’s day, You would have spared Sodom if You could find 10 righteous people in that city. Father, we know that there are millions of righteous in this nation… so we ask You to spare us from what we deserve.

Your Word says that judgment begins in the household of God; Father, we pray that You would continue dealing with the Church, that we would once again be the salt and light that You’ve called us to be.

We need You, Father. Our hearts are grieved. Our sins are many. Please restore us, O God. We turn to you.

Bless our new President, give him wisdom, and put him in fear of Your great name. Let him realize the sobering fact that one day, he’ll have to stand before You, the Almighty God, and answer for how he handled the trust you’ve given him.

    In Jesus’ name. Amen.

  5. Heavenly Father;
Thank YOU for YOUR love and faithfulness. YOU are Lord over all and all things are in YOUR hands.

We come to YOU in faith asking for YOUR work to be accomplished in and through our new president elect Obama.

We put our faith and trust in YOU and ask for YOUR wisdom and guidance to be upon the hearts of our leaders and the direction of our country.

JESUS, YOUR Name is above all names, YOU are the KING Who is above all kings, YOU are the LORD Who is above all lords.

Before YOU all people and nations stand or fall. YOUR loving hand of grace is extended to all who will receive YOU. YOU are faithful to YOUR word and YOU do not change.

Heavenly Father, we look to YOU and pray our president elect Obama and the leadership in our great nation through his term of office.

We ask that YOU not allow evil to rest in the hearts of those making decisions that will affect Israel and all of YOUR people.

We pray for the peace and protection of Israel and of all YOUR people.

Please help president elect Obama to truly know YOU and be led by YOUR Holy Spirit.

May the words he has spoken to the public of his faith in YOU find deep root in his heart to bear fruit for YOUR glory.

Please visit him in the quietness of his soul and draw him to YOURSELF to know the great responsibility he has before YOU, first and foremost.

May president elect Obama walk in the fear of the Lord and may he see his need to seek to please YOU and not to lean upon his own understanding or the wisdom and influences of the world.

Please surround president elect Obama with God-fearing men and women.

Please guide YOUR people to pray and come together in love and unity with prayers for our leaders in our nation and all over the world, according to YOUR will.

We put our hope and trust in YOU, not in what we see, feel or think. Though we are weak, yet YOU are strong. Because of our humanity, we can be moved, but YOU are unmovable – YOU ARE GOD ALMIGHTY!

YOU are THE SOLID ROCK upon which our once Godly nation once began.

YOU are still God and YOU are still in control so that we can boldly say, IN GOD WE TRUST!

Thank YOU, Heavenly Father for hearing our prayers and for reminding us to hold up our leaders before YOU in prayer.

In Jesus’ Name we pray. Amen ~

  6. Father, Thank you for this blog. May it be just one of many ways in which Christians can be reminded to pray for Barack Obama.

I ask that You would protect him from those who would seek to harm him. I pray that You speak to his heart and that he would heed Your words.

I pray you would give him the strength to make decisions that are the best for our nation. Show him how precious the unborn are and they need protection from a nation bent on killing them

Give him wisdom in his dealings with nations who are hostile towards us. Please give Him wisdom in addressing our financial crisis.

Let him see that Christians want him to do well and that millions are praying for him. Thank you Father that you can do more than we might dare imagine.

Forgive us for the moral state of our nation. Forgive us for our pride. Forgive us for looking to men to deliver us. Give us the strength to not deny Your holy name. Thank you for the privilege of being able to come to You boldly as we seek Your blessings on our nation and the man who will be our President. In Jesus name. Amen

  7. Father,

Thank you that You alone can reach into a man’s heart and completely transform him. I pray for Obama tonight: transform him that he might bring you glory.

May he make decisions that allow your people to live peaceable lives. May he be touched so as to value the lives of the unborn. Protect him from evil men that want to use him for their evil agendas.

    In Jesus’ name…

Thank you my God, that in this country, we have peaceful transitions of power; that we are not chaotic. May we Christians lead the way in showing, not just tolerance, but love. Thank you for President-elect Obama. May he be a man greatly used by you to bring this country to our knees in spiritual renewal. I know not if he is saved. If not, please save his soul. May he just shock us and turn out to become a great man of faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, and allow the world to know it through his actions. May the Christian community love him with all our hearts. In Jesus’ Name- the Name above all names- Amen&Amen

  8. Good morning, Heavenly Father;

Thank YOU for YOUR Loving Mercy this morning that extends to all who see the sun rising and feel it’s warmth.

Thank YOU that YOU are on the throne this morning and that with YOU there is not variation of turning, there are no shadows, no darkness at all for with YOU LIGHT shines continually.

Thank YOU that YOU call us YOUR own and that YOU’VE called us to pray for those in authority over us.

Thank YOU that YOU have all Authority and that nothing exists except YOU are mindful of it and will use it for YOUR holy purposes . . .

Though we may not always how YOU are working, it’s by faith that we trust that YOU are using all the things we are seeing in our nation and around the world for YOUR glory and YOUR higher purposes.

Heavenly Father, praise YOU and thank YOU for our great country and that YOU have blessed us so abundantly.

Thank YOU that we are free and that we have the freedom to have elections and to have a voice in the decisions that are being made in our country.

Thank YOU that regardless of personal opinions and adjendas, YOU can change hearts and minds according to YOUR perfect plans and this is what we ask YOU do for us regarding the leading of this country.

We ask that each day, this very morning, that an awareness of YOUR Awesome Power and Might will be revealed to the hearts and minds of the men and women who are in a position to influence the decisions and policies that affect us all – and many people all around the world – decisions and policies that can change the direction in which our nation has been heading away from YOU –

Lord we ask that we repent as a nation as we’ve turned away from the fear of the LORD and the knowledge and awareness that those in power will ultimately answer to YOU.

May we honor YOU in our nation and honor life and the gift of life. . .

Thank YOU that through this simple blog we can lift up our leaders and those in authority over us.

Thank YOU Heavenly Father for President Bush and his cabinet who have voiced faith in YOU and who have reached out to fight the terrorism that threatens the peace and freedom and very lives of us all around the world.

Thank YOU for Senator John McCain who YOU are using to continue to influence change in Iraq in a way that will give them freedom and a democracy of the people, by the people and for the people. . . and that they had their first governmental election to voice their own choices due to our countries stepping in to help them gain their freedom.

Heavenly Father: For those who’ve lost their lives in this war, Lord Jesus please comfort the families and please guide our government and all of us to come along side them to help and support them in their loss and grieving.

Please help our governmental officials to gather together and discuss peacefully the issues at hand with a heart and desire for peace and peaceful resolutions that will benefit the people in Iraq and the people in Israel and in our own country and communities.

Heavenly Father, as President-elect Obama is now gathering his cabinet together around him, please put it upon his heart and in his mind to find those men and women who are people of integrity of heart and have a holy fear of God and that he will be open to speak and receive counsel from those who have years of experience in military affairs like Senator John McCain . . . and others.

Please put it upon President -elect Barack Hussein Obama II’s heart to go to church this morning and allow him to hear the Gospel message, the message YOU have given through the blood of Christ as the power of salvation for all who will believe . . . and may his heart be touched by YOUR Holy Spirit this very morning . . .

Please bless Barack, Michelle and their two daughters with YOUR love and grace.

Thank YOU Heavenly Father for YOUR great love and grace on this beautiful day . . .

In Jesus’ name we pray, amen.
